Christmas was so much fun again this year!

It was Carter's 1st. He loved the paper and boxes.

Jackson had a great time going through his stocking and opening presents. However, the present opening stopped when he got to his Thomas the Train. Nothing mattered after that!

We had a great time getting ready for Santa. From decorating the tree, wrapping presents, trying to stay on the nice list...

Spending time with our families was the best part of all!

It's such a great time of year. Especially getting the chance to teach your children about the reason we have Christmas. We hope all of you had a great Holiday season, and another year full of surprises and happiness!

Halloween

Jackson and I decided to make a spooky gingerbread house for Halloween!

Good idea, right?...

...Well the frosting was too soft, so it was melting off the roof and sides...

so I said forget it, and just let Jackson eat it!

The boys and I decided on a superhero theme for Halloween. Jackson was the amazing Spiderman, carter flew around like Superman, and I was elastagirl!
Carter wanted to give the Spiderman mask a try!

Matt was wearing a scary mask, but it was so scary it would have broken the camera so I wouldn't let him wear it!

How Many?

My mother in law just had a birthday. She just turned 67 and lives life to the fullest. I couldn't ask for someone better as a mother in law. My niece and I filled her favorite chocolate cake with 67 candles. It was kind of like having a bonfire in your hands when we were done lighting them. Happy birthday Pammy Whammy!

Carter's Blessing

About a month and a half ago we blessed Carter. Matt gave an awesome blessing! I'm glad I don't have to do that kind of stuff, I would feel to much pressure and probably say everything totally wrong. It was fun to get together as a family after, and fortunately the weather was so perfect.

This is Carter's great grandma Helen. She is going to be 99 years old in December! What a trooper!
I think Carter is so sick of the camera. It's always in his face!

Here are two of my sissy's. Liz and Kristen. Liz makes me look so short. I wish I could say she was wearing super duper high heels, but no, I really am that short.

Jackson is the best big brother ever! He loves to help out and play with Carter all the time.

They Ran How Far?

Over the weekend, my brother in law and niece ran a 50 mile race! It started in Mt. Green, went over trapper's loop, down old snowbasin road, around pineview dam, and all the way back up the way they came. My sister's in law and I have volunteered every year for it. We drive around all day and take care of the runners.

Carter got to tag along this year! Can't you tell that he was having just as much fun as we were?

They almost still looked this excited at mile 50! But I think it was just because they were finally done. Way to go guys. You are a major inspiration on how to truly be a crazed lunatic!

Carter Matthew Brimhall

Carter Matthew Brimhall was born July 23, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. He was 6lbs. 5oz. 19 1/2in.

I'm embarassed to say that the drugs had all worn off and I still looked this out of it!

Jackson is the big '2'!

Jackson had the best time planning his birthday. His favorite was going to Baskin Robbin's to pick out his "DINO CAKE"! He did a great job blowing out his candles too!

Jackson had a blast opening all of his presents.

Hunter and Grandma Tricia did a great job helping open all of the presents.

We had another fun halloween. Matt's family is really into this holiday. I love it! We had Lamanites, gladiators, an ugly old geezer tourist, "Frank" the bunny, a ghost bride, we even had an appearance from Billy Idol! It's always such a fun party at Matt's sister's house. She goes to a lot of work to entertain so many people. It's such a blast though, so I hope she knows how much fun everyone has.

I had to put this picture in of Jackson because he looks like a drunken pirate!

We can't wait until next year! Great costumes everybody!

SUMMER BLAST!

It's hard to believe that the summer is almost over! We've been having a lot of fun. Here are some of the things we've been up to this last month or so...

I got to do the Wasatch Back Ragnar Relay. A race that goes from Logan to Park City. I've never had so much fun on so little sleep!

We went to a few parades.

We got to catch some fish in Island Park with grandma and grandpa Brimhall.

We went to the zoo while Melissa was in town. Cole kept looking at his map and asking when we were going to see the "snake aisle".

The Dinosaur Park is always a favorite. I think Jackson was growling more than the dinos were!

Jackson got his first haircut! No more mullet or comb-over for him anymore!

We took advantage of the "cash for clunkers" program by getting rid of my jeep. I cried the whole time at the car lot...
...However, we got a super hotty! It's a 2010 Ford Fusion. It's really weird driving a car instead of an SUV, but it's a pretty fun car so I will survive without my dreamboat!

And since it's the summer, Matt has been catching fish after fish. He has quite a few hobbies, so he never has the excuse of not having anything to do! What a beaut! Way to go Matt!

We hope you've had a good summer too, and we can't wait for all of the fun that Fall will bring.

What Happens in Vegas...

We had the chance to go down to Las Vegas a few weeks ago. It was freakin' awesome. The whole "fam damily" was there! It's been a long time since all of us have been together. We got to spend a lot of time with my sister Melissa and her family, and we went to dinner with Matt's brother and wife. It was such a blast, but the weather was overcast the whole time so I didn't get a tan. WTF!

We did a lot of walking and shopping, and Jackson was tired of his stroller, so we rented this "semi-truck" to haul him around in. He loved it, and was totally bummed when we had to take it back.

The highlight of the trip was going to eat at the Rainforest Cafe for Melissa's birthday. I have never seen Jackson so excited in my life. He growled at the jaguar, hissed at the snake, did whatever it is a monkey does, and acted like a fish! It was so funny. I can't wait until we go to the zoo!

We hit up the shark reef at Mandalay Bay. There were so many cool fish. We got to touch sting rays (those things that killed the crocadile hunter), see jelly fish, sea turtles, tons of different fish, and lots of scary sharks!

This is some mime that was perfoming on the strip. Liz was fascinated by him. She stood by him, shook is hand, gave him a tip and then asked him for his digits! Go Liz!

Jackson finally got worn out. He was such a trooper. He loved looking at everything. It was a whole new world for him. He was a blast to take with us. Good job baby J!

Ogden Marathon

I got the chance to participate in the Ogden Marathon again this year. It was held on May 16th. I am sad to announce that because sometimes life happens, I was only able to do the half marathon. Being a mom and working graves started to extinguish my running ability when my training was getting up to around 18 miles. I still had a super duper blast running the race. The hype and adrenaline for this event is so cool. There are so many events that everyone should think about participating in some way next year. This is a picture of a bunch of us who finished the half marathon and the full 26.2 mile marathon. Way to go everybody!

Run Forest, run!

This is my brother in law Kurt, his daughter Lauren, and I all ran the half marathon together. These guys are some serious runners who kicked my trash! Nice tan Lauren!!!

Jackson wasn't super excited about not being able to run around in the park after. There were so many people, and being the little wanderer he is, there is no way we were going to let him loose!

Jackson's Oweee

Jackson got his first boo boo yesterday. He hit the corner of his eye on the bed frame. I felt like such a bad parent! I know there are more to come as he keeps exploring and finding his limits, but I still don't like to see him get hurt. We went to the store today and everyone looked at his eye and then at me with a questioning look. I can only assume what they were thinking, and it probably wasn't very positive. I'm not a baby beater!

Thankfully his canister of 'Li'l Crunchies' always help him to feel better.

Jackson is getting so big so fast. It is so fun to watch him grow. It seems as though he changes every day. He keeps us so entertained, and makes sure that we spend every waking minute entertaining him as well. He makes us laugh so much! We are so happy now that we have him in our lives, and so grateful that he is healthy and hopefully happy!

The Halloween Crew

Matt's sister, Shelly, made an awesome pirate for Halloween. Hhhmmm...I might have to borrow that for next year! And Matt was a rapper named "Little John". One day Matt will fulfill his dream of being rapper and make us millions! I didn't get to dress up this year. Jackson needed one of his parent's to be normal because his dad sure didn't look very endearing. Nice grill Matt. YEEEA!!

Amish Country

Matt's parent's were good ol' Amish folk. They served a mission a few years ago in Akron Ohio, and there is a little Amish community there. They learned a lot about their way of life, and figured that they wanted to look like them one day of the year!

Matt's Nephews

Matt's family is totally into Halloween. Every year they throw a huge party. They go to the extreme when it comes to decorating the house. They invite the whole family and neighborhood over, and his sister makes the best chili! These are Matt's nephews; Hunter was one of the characters from that new scary movie "The Strangers". Bucky was a ghetto basketball player I suppose. Love the hair Buck!!!
